fuck you, fuck you very very much
Since I just had some revealing discussions that both ended in my conversational partner all but saying "I am a douchebag", I've had an interesting opportunity to vent my spleen. And I've chosen to repost one of these spleen-ventings because I spent a lot of time on it and got to use a lot of varied and interesting expletives.

Background: some genius at Inception Kink requested fic of Joseph Gordon-Levitt paired with a hitRECorder. Some other genius wrote it, citing hitRECord chat interactions as part of their basis for canon. That particular hitRECorder and other hitRECords in general are understandably freaked the fuck out, and contacted the mods. The mods, in their infinite wisdom, decided that it is the right of random creepers on the internet to write fiction about real people, even when said real people feel uncomfortable and violated.

Me: "May I ask why, exactly, you're defending people's 'right' to write fiction that makes not only the subject of the fiction uncomfortable, but a large number of other hitRECorders who, quite frankly, feel disturbed and unsafe that a bunch of random anonymous people have apparently been taking notes on their behaviors for the purpose of a kink meme?"

The mods: "http://community.livejournal.com/inception_kink/17669.html?thread=36941573#t36941573"

Me: "Have you ever heard some variant of the phrase "It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt"?"

The mods: "Thanks for your concern and the very informational lesson in common phrases! Unfortunately, this is the last email you'll get from us. Bye now."

Since, you know, they just kindly gave me the last word, I decided to accept it.

"It is like some angel from on high delivered you to me with a hand-painted target sign and said "you know what, these people are being unrepentant douchebags who won't even justify their actions. Have at!"

So to begin, you are, in fact, being douchebags. Real Person Fiction hinges on the very important unspoken rule that the subject of such fiction not know it exists, because there is this thing called 'common courtesy', of which you have a gaping lack. Perhaps no one ever taught you that while you may consider hitting someone on the head with a toy to be fun play, the other person considers this to be assault and battery. Where other people see a gross invasion of respect and privacy, you see "WAHHH IT'S OKAY AS LONG AS WE AREN'T PROSECUTED IN COURT!"

To wit: klootzak, pokkelijder, kankerbitch. You fucking excuses for a mod team, it is beyond my ability to comprehend how you can be so careful about making sure everyone trigger-warns and so on and yet you can't seem to grasp the concept that hurting people is bad. For gods' sakes, a five-year-old can figure that out. Did you just skip that lesson in socialization? This isn't even a single target, a large section of HitRECord is now scared to hang out in their chat because they don't want to discover some new runknisse has been wandering in to take notes on them and write invasively creepy fiction about them.

Tabernac, choleque de merde, if you'll pardon my French. Just, putain de bordel de merde, what the fuck made you think this is a good idea? How would you like it if some yutz wandered into your place of work and started publicly writing crap about you? Doesn't that just make you feel so happy and safe inside?

To finish off, I'd like to pass on some lovely expletives from other people that I didn't manage to fit into the body of the text: marbhfháisc ort, clam-faced pillock (a bit of Shakespearean insult, because gods know you made no attempt to bring class to this conversation), cailleach, Someday, I hope you experience a similar invasion to your self-comfort so that you can properly understand what the fuck you're doing. Congrats on being a pitiful attempt at decency.

Thanks for your thoughtful and very kind sacrificial offering. I hope you've not only learned something about yourself, but about the many glorious expletives in the world. Bye now!"

Just... I ... what.. that's...

I mean, seriously? There's a REASON why yuletide only allows yulechat personalities to be character tagged in yuletide-fic if they are willing to have fic written about them. :/

Welp, glad I stopped following that kinkmeme. :/

Mind if I link this entry over to a friend who also is in Inception fandom? Preeeeetty sure this sort of behavior needs to be known about at large, if it isn't spread.
