I heard you love maths, so I put some maths in your dream you can do in your sleep.
This is a handy-dandy formula for calculating dream-time up to two dream levels down from proper time, As Seen On TV Inception, along with a table of some general values.

rx, where x is the quantity of time measurement and r is the dream-time in a ratio of the quantity in proper time to dream time.

(r^2)x with the same qualifications.

Or, in handy table form:

Proper Time
One Dream Level
Two Dream Levels

According to the movie, using what is presumably standard Somnacin gives you a ratio, in minutes (and any quantity! You'll see!), of 5:60 (five minutes in proper time = one hour in dream = 60 minutes in dream). Therefore, one minute in proper time equals twelve minutes in dream time (5:60 simplifies to 1:12).

Now I'm going to give you another handy table with some specific values! Yay!

Proper Time
One Dream Level
Two Dream Levels
1 minute
12 minutes
144 minutes
5 minutes
60 minutes
720 minutes (12 hours)
15 minutes
180 minutes (3 hours)
2160 minutes (36 hours; 1 1/2 days)
30 minutes
360 minutes (6 hours)
4320 minutes (72 hours; 3 days)
60 minutes
720 minutes (12 hours)
8640 minutes (144 hours; 6 days)

But wait!! Sixty minutes is an hour! TO THE TABLE GENERATOR AGAIN!

Proper Time
One Dream Level
Two Dream Levels
1 hour
12 hours
144 hours (6 days)
6 hours
72 hours (1 1/2 days)
864 hours (36 days)
12 hours
144 hours (6 days)
1728 hours (72 days; 2 months + 12 days)
24 hours
288 hours (12 days)
3456 hours (144 days; ~4.8 months

Don't worry, though! We're coming up on the last table now!

Proper Time
One Dream Level
Two Dream Levels
1 day
12 days
144 days (~4.8 months)
1 week
12 weeks (84 days)
144 weeks (~2.8 years)
1 month
12 months
144 months (12 years)
1 year
12 years
144 years

HTML Tables

You'll notice, then, that the ratio is always 1:12:144? Which means you can multiply any quantity of time by 12 (or 12 squared) and get the dream time! YAY!! Of course, if you have Yusuf fiddle with the formula to give you a different ratio, then all you have to do is plug in the ratio of one minute:dream-time minutes and you have your new r! YAY!!

And that's it! The handy-dandy formula in action. We hope you have enjoyed this edition of Dear God What Is My Life, and take pity on the poor thing who felt the need to make it!

P.S. Also, feel free to poke me if you spot an error in calculations, as I am woefully only human and prone to inaccuracy.

I love this, I love math, I love you! It went into my bookmarks immediately. I'm especially happy to have the basic ratio formula so that I can manipulate a Somnacin dosage and still come up with realistic numbers for time based on the new concoction. :D

Aahhh! I'd been wanting one of these (which is strange because Math hates me)! Thanks for finally making oneee <3

I imagine it would be quite tempting to stay hooked up to the thing for a year (while under outside supervision, of course, so you don't...die) and pretty much experience bing immortal...like if you split your time pretty evenly between being awake and being asleep, you could pretty much live for thousands of years. Or, at least, *feel* like you lived that long. I suspect it would really change your perspective...

Seeing formulas terrifies me but this is handy! Maybe one day I will have to figure it out to use it. Haha. Thanks!

Old as it may be, it'll always be my absolute favourite anime. (And 1xR will always be one OTP, haha.)

I think your icon is from Endless Waltz? *__* God that movie was beautiful and badass.
